How to read the chart without guessing

Hard total means your hand has no Ace counted as 11. Soft total means you have an Ace counted as 11. A pair is two cards of the same rank, like 8,8.

Quick wins you can use tonight

• Do not take even money or insurance with no count. It is a bad bet in the long run.
• Do not stand on 12 vs dealer 2 or 3. Hit. You will bust sometimes, but it wins more often.
• Always split 8s (except you can surrender 8,8 vs 10 if LS is on). Two hands of 8 beat one hard 16.

What about “composition-dependent” plays?
