The economic recovery of the Las Vegas Strip remains robust as Nevada's casinos post their strongest Q2 slot revenue since 2019, the Nevada Gaming Control Board's quarterly statistics report said Monday.
In the April-June quarter, casinos in Clark County, where the Strip is located, reported slot machine winnings of $2,252,714,130, according to data compiled by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. That reflects an increase of 3.24% from the same period a year ago.
The state's slot machines brought in a total of $3,472,576,569 for the quarter, up 3.75% from a year ago, the report added. For the three-month period through June 30, 2026, the state's largest and most diverse gaming market, Clark County, accounted for about 64.97% of the state's total gaming revenue.
Washoe, another major market that includes Reno, also saw a double-digit quarterly increase in slot revenue, with $258,361,386 in slot winnings, a gain of 12.47% from a year ago, Nevada Gaming Control Board data showed.
Gaming revenue tracked by the Board focuses solely on gross figures and does not account for how expenses affect the operators' bottom lines. Slot revenue was defined as the amount a machine takes in minus the payout in winnings to the player. Casino drop cited in the report is the amount wagered. Total win is everything a casino takes in on its floor, from slots to table games to sports bets.
The results marked the best quarter for Nevada's slot machines since the second quarter of 2019. With the Q2 2026 data posted, focus shifts forward now for how the July figures will read in August, as cost- and interest-rate-related profitability concerns, as well as the past month's flood, tip-toe into the growth equation.
The quarterly total reflects the period of April 1 to June 30 and is important to investors and industry observers because it covers April, the first month in which most of the Strip's convention business returns to the market following the summer.
Improvement in Las Vegas hotel occupancy numbers, with July occupancy reaching 77.2%, is giving casinos' high slot earnings a boost, according to data compiled by Las Vegas casinos online. The city welcomed about 3,171,600 visitors in July, and that economic revenue rise of 3.64% for casino gamers follows 3.6% slot revenue growth that Strip brought in for the month, an analyst noted.
Las Vegas Strip gaming revenue totaled $776.3 million in July, up 3.6% year-over-year, while Nevada as a whole brought in $1,388 billion across all of its large casinos, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
The monthly snapshot is a timely follow on from the quarterly report, with July conventioneers who saw a boost helped by a drop in word-of-mouth value that will have long-term impacts, a prominent Reno gaming market analyst opined.
Steady slot earnings will buoy casino stocks' value through November's share-price peaks.
While the growth that the quarterly totals depicts came after a strong start to the year, there are worries that two factors could cause it to taper after that:
1. Outside of the Las Vegas area, gaming winnings in Nevada came in down 3.4% from a year before. With shippers and rail companies still recovering, they're likely to contribute less of a bump in the future, compared to past years.
"We don't anticipate an acceleration ... we see a pretty solid tie-in reaction of tourism," said one Clark County executive. "We're seeing good growth, and it's soothing to see that it's not slowing, but it's also not accelerating at a time that already seems to be close to 100 percent recovery."
2. The cost of everything that casinos face is adding up at a time when pricing power on the gaming floor is limited, as the Strip grows in an era of overtourism. The rises have casinos paying higher prices to deliver the same experience to Las Vegas visitors.
"We are seeing a moderation of interest-rate-induced economic impact. But we don't anticipate an acceleration," one NAIOP executive said, noting that their predictions predict reduced, negative reaction of revenue on the horizon. "We see a pretty solid tie-in reaction of tourism across the board. That's soothing to see that it's not slowing, but it's also not accelerating at a time that already seems to be close to 100 percent recovery."
Meanwhile, gaming stocks have been swinging recently on reports in the first quarter from NV Entertainment, MGM Resorts, Las Vegas Sands, Wynn's Q4, Snack Las Vegas, Golden Entertainment, Eldorado Resorts and Boyd Gaming results.
